I’ve been working on projects for @foodandfriend I’ve been working on projects for @foodandfriendsdc since I was a junior designer, which is a VERY long time. 😱 This is one of my first F&F projects from 2004, an invitation to the ribbon cutting ceremony for their new facility where they are still headquartered today. My concept was “a cut above”—a nod to their snazzy new digs, ribbon cutting, and FOOD—with a custom illustration including a fork and knife. (Of course, there are 100 things my evolved designer eye would change. 😊) Food & Friends delivers meals to seriously ill adults and children, free of charge. My first laser cut project was in 2005 (almost 20 My first laser cut project was in 2005 (almost 20 years ago 😱) with this annual report I designed for Associated Builders and Contractors. The one piece of equipment that is universal for all builders—the work boot. My concept was “breaking new ground” and the boot print was laser cut into the silver cover. Pretty cool, huh? Back then, there was only one facility in the country in New York that could handle a project like this. Now I have a machine in my office that can register a design like this and cut the paper. An equalizer pattern adds a subtle nod to music in super shocking neon pink (Pantone 806) which shows through the cut out linear letters.
