In 2017, Food & Friends celebrates its 27th annual
Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction
which helps support its mission to provide those suffering from life-threatening illnesses with nourishing food, nutrition counseling and hope.
When Food & Friends began its work in 1988, a handful of volunteers delivered a few meals to their friends and family members dying from AIDS. This year alone, it will deliver nearly a million meals to 2,600 individuals facing critical illnesses. To make its work possible, Food & Friends relies on the funds raised by its Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction throughout the year. This year’s event takes place at the luxurious Marriott Marquis Washington DC.
This year’s branding needed to communicate the fun but sophisticated atmosphere of the event and that guests would be enjoying exceptionally delicious bites from scores of celebrity chefs, like Marjorie Meek-Bradley, Top Chef Season 13 finalist.
Food & Friends’ mother logo includes a red heart on a delivery bag full of food. For Chef’s Best 2017 logo, we borrowed the mother logo’s heart to represent the fact that Food & Friends not only serves food, but also comfort, hope and love. Yet, the love is served with white glove elegance, just like the service guests will enjoy at the event.
Once the logo was established, we got to work on the printed invitation. The bright and bold barrel-fold featured a tear-off recipe guests could keep. Rounding out the branding, we created the eblast save the date, website header, program/bidder number, multimedia display, and signage.
