
The Event
NAF is a national network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career, and future ready. Its annual convention, NAF NEXT, provides professional development while addressing some of the biggest challenges facing education and the economy. Its members are public school educators so they’re faced with issues that private school educators and charter educators are not. They put in a lot of extra work to provide a special kind of education to their communities and preparing the students for college and the workplace.

The Branding
The main tagline for the event, Imagine Our Future, spoke to the future for the professionals’ students as they prepare for their lives after high school, but it also relates to the future for NAF’s partners, for education, and for the world. Therefore, I set out to create a look and feel with a positive take on what lies ahead. Working closely with Leading Authorities, Inc., I went through several rounds before landing on a design that NAF felt captured the spirit of the event. I felt that nothing could give more of an aura of inspiration and excitement for the future than the dawn of a new day.
To add texture and dimension, I used higher education doodles which covered various subjects and options for the students’ futures. Finally, I created a starburst logo to be applied to everything from the Cvent header, app store graphics, the NAF NEXT app, signage and collateral.
