The vintage New England vibe of this wedding
set the stage for their lobster feast
Married in a small, private ceremony in Italy, Heather and Edward celebrated their nuptials with family and friends in Massachusetts. They wanted their wedding stationery to have a fun, lobster theme and stay simple with a red and blue color palette.
Starting with the save the date, I thought what would be a better way to get guests excited about a lobster bake wedding than to send them a real lobster bib? I illustrated a cool design with all the wedding info that was screen printed on the bibs.
The bibs were neatly folded and wrapped around a “formal invitation to follow” card and they were held in place with red and white baker’s twine. Based on the bib design, I created a monogram tag to hang from the twine. Finally, the finishing touch was a deep red envelope liner.
When it was time to design the wedding invitations, the bride didn’t want to deviate from the look and feel I developed. Using the same fonts, I designed a simple but cute invitation and inserts with small lobster details and screened back blue elements.
All of the cards were printed on super thick paper with aqua edge painting. I used the monogram to create a pattern and line the envelopes. I’m so proud to have played a small part in their celebration.
